The annual SIFET meeting has been held in Modena from 12th to 14th September 2012; the main subject was “GNSS: FROM THE GLOBAL ADJUSTMENT TO THE LOCAL SURVEY”. GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite Systems) represent one of the most interesting surveying techniques in both research and professional fields, developing fast, deeply contributing to the realization of reference systems, the local network definition and to various local surveying modes (cartography and GIS update, cadastral update, engineering works tracking, etc.). During this meeting SIFET intended to present a state-of-the-art framework of this technique development, by offering a research activities overview at national level with a view to the consequences such researches will have in the professional field.
In this environment GReD has presented, through Dr. Stefano Caldera a study titled “GNSS permanent network monitoring: actions, procedures and a sample application”, realized in collaboration with Milan and Turin Technical Universities. As regards GReD, the study describes a practical example of our RegNet software, used for automatically monitoring coordinates and quality of a GNSS permanent station network. RegNet is presently used by GReD for its ItalPoS, Regione Lazio and RDN monitoring services.
